THE INNOVATION VOUCHER PROGRAM

Overview

The Innovation Voucher program managed by the Centre of Innovation Technology (CIT) at the Industrial Research Institute (IRI), is designed to encourage innovation by offering useful resources for SMEs, individual researchers and research institutes, supporting them in creating new products, processes, services, and to come up with innovative business models.

The voucher system grants researchers with a valid project up to $6,000 covering some of their costs related to:

  • CONSULTING AND RESEARCH

  • DEVELOPMENT AND RELATED SIMULATION OR PROTOTYPING

  • KNOWLEDGE OUTCOMES FROM RESEARCHERS

Eligibility

The project is addressed to:

  • PRIVATE SECTOR ENTREPRISES

  • INDIVIDUAL RESEARCHERS

  • UNIVERSITIES OR RESEARCH INSTITUTES

ALL PROJECTS SHOULD BE INNOVATIVE, THEY SHOULD RESPOND TO THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:

  • New product and/or process development

  • New business model development

  • Projects have to be already researched

  • Proven to be valid

  • Provide a new idea or novel intellectual property in the area of basic and/or applied science and technology

  • Have an industrial application preferably matching Lebanese industrial needs

An applicant can apply for more than one project provided they address different topics and resolve different industrial applications.

How To Apply

STEP 1: Download the Abstract Form and send it to the CIT by email to info@cit-lb.org

STEP 2: Wait for our e-mail reply within 2 weeks from receiving your abstract as to the eligibility of your abstract.

STEP 3: In case of abstract approval, download the Application Form.

STEP 4: Complete the form and present it to our front office at the address below, within the deadline for receiving the first wave of applications mentioned on the site. (A non-refundable fee of Lebanese pounds 150,000 should be paid upon submitting each application).

STEP5: Within a period of not less than 2 months from the application deadline, you will be receiving the final reply as to your voucher award.

Special Information

The voucher per applicant should not exceed $6,000 and an applicant may not submit more than one project at a time.
The voucher is not transferable and will be paid in cash to the researchers
