During the first day of the event, Dr. Talal Salem, TSC member of FOSTEr in
MED, presented the project to an audience of professionals and gave insight
about the various aspects of the project, namely the key role of the context
analysis developed by the project, as well as the territorial activities
implemented so far, stressing on the development of a key document that set the
guidelines related to the implementation of BIPV. Dr. Salem announced that the
guidelines were recently added to FOSTEr in MED’s website, offering a valuable
reference for designers, students and engineers.
“The guidelines document is a tool to train students and professionals to
BIPV which is a new technology, and to make this new approach as simple as
possible”.
Dr Salem ended his presentation with updated details on the pilot project and
the additional capacity of the BIPV installed on the building of the Industrial
Research Institute. “We made sure that the elements that were added to the
building also had a shading function, to better illustrate the concept of
Building Integrated Photovoltaic”.
